A showroom is judged by its floor and its glass.
Car dealerships and showrooms across Sheffield and Yorkshire. Gloss floors, floor-to-ceiling glass and display areas cleaned to the standard a forecourt is judged on, customer lounges and handover bays presented for every appointment, and workshop welfare kept right — around opening hours rather than during them.
The cars are spotless. The building has to match.
A showroom sells presentation. Three things in how we work exist for a building where a smear on the glass is visible from the road.
Floors and glass to a forecourt standard
Gloss and tiled floors machine-cleaned and buffed, floor-to-ceiling glass cleaned inside on the round and outside on schedule, display areas dusted around the cars and never on them. Written into the specification, audited by a supervisor in person.
Around opening and around handovers
Showrooms open early and stay open late, and a handover bay needs to be right at a specific time. The round is scheduled before opening, with daytime presence where the site is large enough, and handover areas reset on request.
Cover, and hours you can see
Cleaners are our employees on a rota that covers Saturdays, absence is covered by relief cleaners we employ for that purpose, and every visit is checked in and out with GPS-verified timestamps.
The specification, written for a showroom.

Before the first customer, and around the appointments.
A dealership is open long hours and six or seven days. These are the patterns we run.
Early morning
Before opening — floor, glass and lounge presented for the first customer of the day.
Before openingEvening
After close, with the showroom empty and the floor clear for machine work.
After the last customerDaytime presence
A cleaner on site through the day for larger sites — washrooms and lounge kept right, handover bays reset between appointments.
Part-day or full-dayLaunches and events
Extra hands for an evening launch or a weekend event, staffed to the date.
Staffed to the calendarAccess, alarm codes and keyholding are arranged during mobilisation and held under our procedures.
A single-franchise showroom and a multi-brand site are different contracts.
Motor retail comes in several shapes. These are the ones we see most.
Franchised dealerships
A branded showroom with the manufacturer's presentation standards, a customer lounge and a handover bay that has to be right at a fixed time.
Multi-brand and group sites
Several showrooms, shared workshops and a large customer area, usually with daytime presence and a supervisor on the account.
Used car supermarkets
Large indoor floors, high footfall and long opening hours. Machine-cleaned floors and washroom cover through the day.
Workshops and service centres
Reception, waiting area and welfare for technicians — cleaned around the service diary. The workshop floor itself stays with your team.
Motorcycle, van and commercial vehicle dealers
The same presentation standard on a different floor plan, often with a parts counter and trade reception.
Retail showrooms generally
Kitchens, bathrooms, furniture and flooring showrooms with the same glass-and-floor problem. Leisure & retail cleaning →
Car showrooms are one of twelve sectors. See all twelve or go back to commercial cleaning as a whole.
Consumables, waste and windows should not be three more suppliers.
Buildings rarely need only cleaning. Two parts of the business exist so that the rest does not become four more contracts, four more invoices and four more people to chase.
Consumables, waste and the outside of the building
Managed on the same schedule as the clean and billed on the same invoice, so usage is tracked against what the building actually gets through rather than a standing order that arrives whether you need it or not.
- Washroom supplies
- Sanitary units
- Waste & recycling
- Confidential waste
- External windows
- Signage cleaning
Staff, when the building needs more than cleaners
The same recruitment, vetting and HR that puts our cleaning teams in place, used to staff the other roles a site runs on — employed by us, covered by us when someone is off.
- Reception & front of house
- Caretaking
- Kitchen & catering
- Security
None of it is compulsory. Plenty of contracts are cleaning and nothing else — but if you are currently managing four suppliers for one building, raise it at the site visit.
Four steps, and a price that comes from the building rather than a rate card.
Anyone who quotes without seeing the site is guessing at your hours. This is what happens instead.
Site visit
We walk the building with you — the areas, the hours you need covered, the standard you are working to, and the things the last contractor kept getting wrong.
Written proposal
A specification and a price, with the tasks and frequencies set out plainly. Insurance certificates and compliance documents come with it, not on request later.
Mobilisation
Team assigned and inducted on site, access and alarms arranged, RAMS written for the building, consumables and equipment set up. A start date, not a vague fortnight.
Supervision
Mobile supervisors audit against the specification, your named contact stays the same, and the schedule flexes as the building changes.
Sheffield first, and staffed locally everywhere else.
We are registered and based in Sheffield and most of our contracts are here. Further afield, a contract is staffed with a team recruited near the building and supervised on a regional route — distance is a logistics question, not an obstacle.

The questions dealer principals ask.
Q.01Do you clean the cars?
No — the cars stay with your valeting team. We clean everything around them: floors, glass, plinths, lounges, washrooms and welfare. Display areas are dusted and wiped with the vehicles left untouched, and that is written into the induction.
Q.02How do you keep a gloss floor looking right?
Daily mopping or machine cleaning and buffing on the round, with a periodic machine scrub, strip and re-seal scheduled into the year. Product choice matters on a gloss floor and is agreed at the site visit.
Q.03Is external glass included?
Ground-level frontage glass can be on the weekly round; full-height and high-level glass is scheduled periodically with method statements and the right access equipment. Both can sit inside one contract.
Q.04Do you cover Saturdays?
Yes. Cleaners are our employees on a rota that covers the days a dealership is open, absence is covered by relief cleaners we employ for that purpose, and the office is reachable seven days a week.
Q.05Can the handover bay be reset between appointments?
With daytime presence, yes — the bay and the lounge are reset between appointments as part of the day. On a morning-only contract it is presented before opening and your team keeps it through the day.
Q.06Do you clean the workshop?
The welfare — mess room, toilets, changing room — and the reception and waiting area, yes. The workshop floor, pits and equipment stay with your technicians under your own procedures.
Q.07How is showroom cleaning priced?
From a site visit, against a written specification with the hours stated. A single showroom cleaned six mornings a week and a group site with daytime presence are not the same number. Cleaners check in and out with GPS-verified timestamps, so the hours invoiced are the hours worked.
Q.08Which areas do you cover?
Sheffield first, then Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Greater Manchester, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire — 25 towns and cities. See the full list →
Something not covered? Email hello@nowthencleaners.co.uk or call 0114 212 7030 — the office is reachable seven days a week.
